Climate Emergency
Exhibition
The new Urgence Climatique (Climate Emergency) permanent exhibition at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie offers an overview of the various mechanisms we can harness to reconcile decarbonization and adaptation in our societies. Comprising a fresco, interviews, animation, games, and data encouraging action to shape a desirable future, this engaging exhibition covers an area of 2,000 m².
Universcience asked Atelier Franck Boutté and other experts to take part in a video on the theme of decarbonizing, a topic that addresses the city, its problems, and the solutions to tackle them.
Today, when it comes to cities and our responsibility for their future, we need to ask ourselves two questions: "How can we make cities low carbon?” and "How can we work effectively to get them ready for tomorrow’s climate?” Because, it goes without saying, we have to do everything we can to limit the impact of climate change on cities, but we also have to take action to make our cities more livable, desirable once more. However, these issues fall into two very different categories: reducing carbon emissions is part of a mitigation strategy, while preparing for the effects of global warming relates to adaptation. The video explores all this.
