Com d’Archi S1#11: the Studio’s Projects!

Podcast

The podcast series Com d’Archi is presented by Anne-Charlotte Depondt, a doctor in the history of architecture, a communications specialist, and author. For the past four seasons, in addition to stories from architects, specialists, artists, and contractors, it has featured stories from all the people who contribute in one way or another to the discipline of architecture. Each episode takes a discerning look at our heritage, as much as architecture and the challenges of tomorrow. Topics include innovation, cultural value, ecology, use value, durability, and constructive value, and the show features builders through the ages and of all ages, women and men engaged in this extraordinary craft.

Following on from the first installment, Finding the Equation, in this episode Franck Boutté talks about his most iconic projects: from the Grand Palais in Paris to La Grande Motte via Morocco, Egypt, and others.

"To endure is to be able to transform oneself," he says. And in order to transform oneself, we need to ask the right questions and grasp: "How can we rethink the city as artefact in its capacity to host life?", “ And ask the most fundamental question: what is its purpose?”, "No one can meet the challenges of sustainable development in silo."
