Pourparlers #4: with Laurent Gaudé, writer

This edition of the Pourparlers (Talks) podcast from the CNL (National Book Center) brought together the writer Laurent Gaudé, author of the novel Chien 51 published by Actes Sud, with Franck Boutté in his capacity as urban planner and chief of police Vincent Sarguet. Taking the lead fromChien 51, a dystopian thriller depicting a privatized society, the author, urban planner, and police captain present and talk about this fictional world where the State no longer exists and imagine what this world-society would look like if the story came true.

Laurent Gaudé is president of the CNL’s Independent Reference Bookstore (LIR) committee, author of, among others, La Mort du roi Tsongor (2002), Le Soleil des Scorta (2004) for which he received the Prix Goncourt, La porte des Enfers (2008), and Ecoutez nos défaites in 2016.

For the occasion of the release of Laurent Gaudé’s novelChien 51, the podcast of the CNL (National Book Center) brings together the writer, Franck Boutté in his capacity as urban planner, and the chief of police for Les Lilas in Seine Saint-Denis, Vincent Sarguet. 

Chien 51, a dystopian thriller illustrating a privatized society, the author, the urban planner and the curator chat and discuss this fictional world where the State no longer exists. Together, they imagine what this world-society would look like if the story came true.

Son Livre is a podcast produced by Pauline Carayon at the CNL (France’s National Book Center), and the musician, author, composer, and performer Nicolas Lockhart, illustrated by the visual artist Fanny Michaëlis.
