Launched by the State, the "Neighborhoods of Tomorrow" consultation draws on architectural, urban, and landscape innovation to transform 10 priority neighborhoods across France. These areas, home to 5.3 million residents, face major challenges: ecological transition, social inclusion, and the enhancement of the living environment.

The selected sites—from post-war housing estates to mining towns and dense inner-city neighborhoods—reflect the diversity of priority neighborhoods and the challenges we must address as architects, urban planners, and landscape designers.

Intervening in these neighborhoods is not just an architectural exercise; it is a significant social responsibility. Transforming these spaces means offering new perspectives to residents and contributing to a more inclusive and resilient city.

We are proud to have the opportunity to work on an iconic site: the Tarterêts boiler house in Corbeil-Essonnes.

The building, designed by Jean-Pierre Jouve and Roland Dubrulle, represents a part of 20th-century industrial heritage. Its listing as a Historic Monument since 2016 makes it a key element of the local landscape. Its rehabilitation is a unique opportunity to create an ambitious cultural space open to all.

Objective: to restore a central role to this building in the life of the neighborhood and the city.

  • Create a multidisciplinary cultural facility that responds to the expectations of residents;
  • Reinterpret and enhance this heritage by balancing memory and new uses;
  • Anchor the project in an ecological and landscape-driven approach, emphasizing frugality and landscape design to turn the site into a true cool island.
