“Off-site (but not off the ground)”
Paris, 28.09.2023

The brainchild of Pierre Paulot, the exhibition Hors site (mais pas hors-sol) presented a retrospective of a complex history, mixing prototypes and architectural experiments as it explored mass and rationalized industrial processes. It also delved into the relevance of off-site construction in the contemporary context, exploring the new frontiers of technology such as digital innovation, robotization, and 3D printing.
For the preview, Franck Boutté was invited to a round table alongside Linda Gilardone, co-founder of the studio LA Architectures, and Antoine Picon, DPLG architect (state-accredited) and doctor of history, hosted by Hugo Christy.
The Paris team had the opportunity to visit the exhibition with Francesco Marinelli, co-founder of the studio IT’S and the exhibition’s co-curator. It was a source of inspiration for helping us respond to the challenges we face: the ecological emergency, digital innovation, housing crisis, societal changes, to name a few.
