Winner of the competition to design and support the transformation of Rives Défense
Paris, 11.03.2026
Atelier Franck Boutté is part of the winning team selected by Paris La Défense to design and oversee the transformation of the Rives Défense district.
This urban project is being carried out in collaboration with RSHP, Atelier Soil, Altitude 35, Arcadis, mobius réemploi, and Urban Eco.
Located on the Axe historique, facing the Seine and Paris, the site covers approximately 8 hectares. This footprint represents one of the few land opportunities in the area.
The project is structured around three major priorities:At Atelier Franck Boutté, we are driving the project’s environmental, bioclimatic, and low-carbon strategy, which is based on a simple conviction: the transformation of Rives Défense must combine mitigation and adaptation.
- Opening the neighborhood to the Seine, currently largely obscured by infrastructure, to create new recreational uses and strong landscape continuity
- Restoring the natural ground and reshaping the topography by removing certain sections of concrete slabs and giving vegetation its rightful place
- Strengthen diversity and transform the existing fabric, prioritizing the rehabilitation, elevation, restructuring, and enhancement of the built heritage
We thank Paris La Défense for its trust.
