The book “Places du Grand Paris” now out!
Paris, 04.10.2023

Public space offers a significant opportunity to reinvent the way we occupy our planet. It’s with this in mind that we took a special look at the squares around the Grand Paris area, specifically those adjacent to train stations along the Grand Paris Express route.
Places du Grand Paris is the outcome of a three-year study, commissioned by Société du Grand Paris and Île-de-France Mobilités and carried out by a team of designers, researchers, and scientists. The book serves as a guide to designing public spaces, with the aim of fostering a common culture around these spaces. It has been designed for owners and designers of public spaces at the 68 future stations of the Grand Paris Express, to help them steer, program, design and manage these spaces.
As part of this study, Mohamed Benzerzour, project director at Atelier Franck Boutté, contributed his expertise in the sustainable urban planning of public spaces and took part in writing the sections devoted to energy and carbon sobriety, comfort, and climate resilience. The dedicated sections were compiled taking a cross-disciplinary approach to encompass the diversity of urban situations and environments.
The book is available in bookshops and on the publisher’s website
