Meeting of French-speaking Mayors

On April 27, at the invitation of the AIMF (International Association of French-speaking Mayors), Franck Boutté took part in a round table discussion entitled “Francophone Cities in Transition: Centers of Progress on a Human Scale?”
Alongside Annie Chrystel Limbourg Iwenga (Second Deputy Mayor of Libreville in charge of Decentralized and Inter-municipal Cooperation), Vineshsing Seeparsad (Chief Executive of the City of Port-Louis), Xavier Bailly (Deputy Director of the Cité Internationale de la Langue Française in Villers-Cotterêts) and Alain Bourdin (Sociologist and Professor at the École d’Urbanisme de Paris).
The aim of this meeting is to work together to build, drawing on a range of perspectives, a form of city governance that will have an ever-greater impact in the face of major global challenges. The program included discussions on mobility, transitions (ecological, economic, social, and societal), sustainable urban planning, climate, decarbonization... and days centered around forums for dialogue, trust, solidarity, and concrete action, designed to help all cities adapt as best they can.
