Urban Metabolism
Looking ahead, we can see that risks facing regions often arise from the alteration of natural cycles as a result of largely uninformed land use decisions. Restoring original ecological functions is then the only way to reduce risks.
Drawing up an inventory of responsibilities of the various regional entities concerning the alteration of cycles allows us to identify the roles and missions of each entity in view of restoring them. The aim is to engage all stakeholders in a collective, responsible project to build a region as a shared common good.
All challenges can then be addressed and aggregated into a coherent global vision, with ecology as both a guiding thread and framework.
